Hi everyone, Rap and Jaime were able to snap a few pics from our participation at last weekends balloon fest. It was kinda bizarre acting as window dressing for the jeep exhibit but eventually we noticed that we became more of an attraction than the jeeps themselves! It was like oscar's night in uniform as the crowds milled around us asking for photos. We did have a few enthusiasts show up and ask about the uniforms, details, weapons and such and that made our participation more fulfilling. Highlights? Some nepalese students gathered around krautklrz to ooh and aaahh at the kukri, some very pretty members of the public asked for photos (none from me.) and we had a guest reenactor from the PAF reserve dressed in a complete Kamikaze uniform. How apt to do this in pampanga. Site of the first kamikaze airfield. David Banaghan had the lion's share of the photos, having been there since the early morning resplendent in his British Victorian soldier's outfit. What the day was like: David and Che? CHE?! Que viva! Hasta la victoria siempre! Krautklrz pulls guard duty in front of the jeeps: A few group shots: Um selwyn, did you drop something? With the MD Juan people:

Guys;
We feel very fulfilled in doing this. One of our new member even says, he felt a big heart when people interact & enjoy talking with them & taking pictures. Its a happy experience that money cannot buy. We share our talents, resources & hobbies for a good cause. We do not only play airsoft, collect militaria for our own satisfaction, we also being part of helping our society / community specialy educating history. Many youth are boring in history because schools teach traditional lectures & they became sleepy ha-ha-ha. But when people begin to see actual, life size historical artifacts especially being worn by reenactors.... eduation became more intersting, it becomes "Edutainment", a new word from Webster dictionary, meaning education with entertainment. That's why "Sesame Street" of CTW (Children Television Workshop) is very effective to children, because there is entertainment in education.
When we take pictures with people, winning their hearts, inter-act with them, then people tend to ask questions to reenactors about history or about the uniform we wear. From that a deeper & more detailed education comes in...
That's what I love in reenactment. we enjoy at the same time, we help people.
So I encourage others airsofters, militaria collectors, & enthusiast to join us & be part of a noble purpose.
Mabuhay; Perry

A great day! The crowds mobbed us for photos and info. I hope next year we can have a designated pitch with a tent and display stall. also to have some spare uniforms and hats/helmets etc for people to pose in. A collection tin would also be a good idea. If we had obtained just one peso per photo we would have had several thousand to put towards expanding our dreams of progress. A display of photos taken at other events and recruiting hand bills would be helpful. lastly we might be able to show a living hist. of a squad at camp/guardposte etc and a short drill, inviting members of the crowd to take part. To have a small skirmish,---ah that would be something! Lastly a word about some of the young ladies that posed with us. WOW!! David
