Hi Everyone, I'd just like to share some photos i took at yesterday's commemoration of the bombing of clark field and Collin kelly's heroic mission. This was the 4th year of commemoration of the heroism of Capt. Colin P. Kelly Jr. and the bombing of Clark field, the day after the japanese struck pearl harbor. It was great to see the familiar faces from the Bataan Commemorations earlier this year and see a great many new faces. Present were the PSHS Mc Kinley and Stotsenberg groups, The BNK, The various Jeep owners and many more. We were specially honored to meet 26th Cavalry Veteran Capt. Felipe Fernandez, who regaled us with his stories of the Bataan campaign. Full Circle: Capt Felipe Fernandez 26th Cavalry (PS) back home at Fort Stotsenburg for the first time since 1948: The honor guard assembled for a commemorative photo at the Stotsenberg parade ground: Captain Fernandez' Family: Jnmodeller with the scouts flag: Mc Kinley Chapter president Mon Macasinag replendent in his Class A uniform: Cavalrymen! Lt. Edgar "Guy" Hilbero, Executive officer, 26th US Cavalry (Philippine Scouts) Memorial Regiment, President, Philippines Scouts Heritage Society, Fort Stotsenburg Chapter, Clark Freeport: Note the original (100 yr old) Mclellan cavalry saddle!!! Philip Garcia presents Captain Fernandez with his old photo: "Where did you find that?!!!!" The boys gather round their idol: David of the BNK strikes a pose: Ray and the 48 stars and stripes flag: Weapons galore: No airconditioned car for this cavalryman...he wanted to ride in the jeep! The expression says it all:

Brilliant! I had a perfect day & so thanks to all who lent me the kit to take part once again. I never got to speak with the 2 other American Vets that where there. Did anyone learn who they were and in what theatre of war they took part? Got a trike straight away from San Fernando which took me to my house in 10 minutes. Hope to see you all on the 21st! Salute! David

Well done my friends. Thanks for mobilizing and getting together for this event. That smile on Felipe Fernandez's face is priceless. It's one time I wish I could have suited up, attended, and wasn't 12000 miles away. You guys did good and made him and his generation proud. What was his reaction when you guys presented him the framed picture? He emailed me this picture of him which Philip fixed in photoshop, printed, and framed as a gift for this event. I would have loved to have seen his face when he saw the picture. Albert, thanks for posting the pictures and letting us "witness" the event vicariously through them. Cheers!
