I thought I'd start a thread like this so we can ogle any new stuff we have. I seem to have gotten lucky on ebay lately so here's one of my recent winnings: (click for bigger) I also won an EE-8 field phone with the older leather case. Can't hurt to have in a collection. I haven't received it yet but will post pictures when it arrives.

NIce one Vic,
Yeah that's what we also have in Calif. Does it have that small piece that plugs in to those three holes in front?
What I did was we disassembled ours and cleaned out all the corrotion and dirt, You can remove and separate the whole leather casing from the power unit so you can get in to clean out all the deterioration. Then cleaned and soaked in lots of leather restorer cream to keep the case moist and from rot and cracking.

I just cleaned the leather a bit with saddle soap for now. I don't know what piece that plugs into the hole you're talking about. Maybe it's not there or I didn't recognize it. I haven't really examined it too much except for a brief saddle soap cleaning. Here's another addition to the display. Of course it says "Bataan Rifleman" but it's really of a stateside member of the 1st Filipino Infantry. He's wearing an M41 jacket and wool pants too.

What a cool picture! I like the early M41 with the pocket flaps. He looks like a troop you wouldn't want to be messing with!

I knew it!... I was wondering how the American Rifleman Magazine got a picture of a "Bataan Rifleman" since the magazine was dated June 1942. The rifleman looks like he was on a training mission. What's also unfortunate was that there isn't an article about those who fought on Bataan in that edition. Thanks for clearing that up, Vic!

Very nice Rick. Congratulations. Low-numbered?
Friscohare, I think that picture was posed too. I need to look at the credits again. That's not how they were trained to throw grenades. I think it was for the benefit of the cameraman.
