The staging was designed to show that P and what happened 65 years ago in the Polish capital and the memorable 65 th anniversary of Warsaw Uprising
for those who do not know the history of the card;]
I have some information about the Warsaw Uprising 1944
As in the summer of 1944 the front moved closer to Warsaw and the liberation by the Red Army approaching, summarized the Polish Home Army Armia Krajowa (the Polish underground army) decided the city itself in a revolt to liberate. The plan was the revolt against the German occupiers to begin when the first associations of the Red Army appeared on the outskirts. The home of the Army wanted to gain control of Warsaw and the Soviets hoped to force them to recognize as a power factor and at the same time when the Western Allies as a true representative of the Polish people to legitimize.
To do this, you should know that in Poland the Soviets and for good reason do not trust. The Red army had 1939 with the cooperation of the Wehrmacht occupation and division of Poland. It disappeared not just Poland's concentration camp in Germany but also in the Soviet gulags. In the case of a "liberation" by the feared Red Army in Poland often that the Brown terror only by the red terror will be replaced. That might explain a little why it was for the Home Army was so important that the capital city of Warsaw itself is virtually free. The uprising, however, was poorly planned. On the one hand you have had too few weapons to the ambitious goal to reach. On the other hand, miscalculated the leadership of the Home Army in the reactions of the Germans and the Soviets.
After the first Soviet tank in the suburb of Praga were started on 1 August 1944 the uprising in Warsaw. The Home Army calculated that the Wehrmacht with the fight against the Red Army made such a claim would be that the uprising in her back had a chance. Also hoping to arms shipments by air, by the Western Allies and serious misjudgment of the situation for possible support by the Polish airborne troops to the Allies on the Western Front fought. At the same time, the leadership of the Home Army underestimated the ruthlessness of Stalin. The Soviet tank tops before Warsaw were only scouts, which by a German counter-kick back some 40 kilometers were driven back.
Although the Red Army because of their military situation not been able to suppress the uprising with a motion to support himself outside Moscow that the revolt against wohlgesonnen. Moscow Radio broadcast calls to fight the population of Warsaw, knowing that they will leave alone. After London by the Home Army urged to drop the weapons was asked was from the air by some Abwürfe associations with British, Polish and South African air crew performed. Once these companies have suffered heavy losses, led the Polish crews in the Western Allied air associations further supply flights alone. They suffered the losses were so high that the action had to be aborted.
Meanwhile, asked Moscow to London in the permit for the transport flights on Soviet territory to be allowed to land. That would have the supplies for the Polish Home Army massively relieved. Stalin rejected the request. Churchill claimed that the flights on Soviet territory without permission to carry out but found no support for the terminally ill Roosevelt, of such a provocative step towards Moscow rejected. In Warsaw there was the Home Army, however, not the most important strategic goals. Due to the shortage of weapons to keep the Poles with a German often prey material. On the other hand, it took the army not the uprising quickly to above.
Not even the use of armored units on 3 August for the purpose of the release of a supply route for the eastern front succeeded. The associations of the home army beat back the advance. The objective of Poland, it was now, which fought to hold positions until the Red Army arrived. But the Red Army did not. It is still controversial whether Stalin, the Poles do not help or not help was wanted. His nefarious beings would rather correspond to the latter. The fights were on both sides with brutal hardship resulted. On 5 August, all the atrocities, but exceeded them. After Heinrich Himmler with the quelling of the revolt was beuaftragt,
In particular, the intervention of the 29th Waffen-Grenadier Division of the SS under Bronislaw Kaminski sichn designed to be a bloodbath but equal. In this on 1 August 1944 established Division fought many Russians as members of the so-called Russian People's Liberation Army. The association of this division was also the SS Storm Brigade Dirlewanger incorporated, which has become a significant part of selected criminals put together, and the pedophile psychopaths Oskar Dirlewanger has been. The troops with the worst reputation, even within the SS came to the Warsaw Uprising in the Wola district workers are used. The struggles for the weakly defended neighborhood home army suffered even a minor loss.
Nevertheless, the bloodshed was outrageous, because the action of the SS-cost associations to very conservative estimates at least 10,000 civilian lives. Other guesses range from 20,000 to 50,000 dead civilians from. There were not only killed men, women and children were raped en masse, followed by the assassination often drunken people Direlwangers and Kaminskis victim. While the troops of Bronislaw Kaminski deducted from the battle and he himself was legally shot was saved connections high in the SS Oscar Dirlewanger, after the quelling of the revolt even with the Knight's Cross was awarded. On 13 August, the army began an offensive in Warsaw.
Nearly 40,000 men attacked the positions of the army at home and they always pushed back. At the same time, finally approved by Stalin westalliierte supply flights on Soviet territory. A big relief flight with over 100 USAAF B17 was no longer needed the help, because most weapons and ammunition containers were the Germans in their hands, which is increasingly dominated soil. On 4 Capitulated in October, the Polish Home Army after 63 days of fighting in Warsaw. An estimated 15,000 fighters of the Home Army had fallen. Approximately 200,000 civilians were in the quelling of the revolt were killed.
The Western Allies, the Germans warned against reprisals against the insurgents captured, because they had this on 30 August in a desperate gesture to be a part of the Allied Forces explains what the status of these POWs were obtained. In January 1945 the Red Army moved into the devastated ghost town of Warsaw. The NKVD had instructions from any survivor of the native army to pursue and detention policy.

To our Polish friends, Very very impressive reenactment thanks for sharing your rich and proud history. We both share similar histories as Manila was likewise devastated as Warsaw was after WW2 and was fiercely fought by brave Filipinos!
Cheers!

Pinoys and Filipinos all, take note and see how it could be done also in the Philippines given the same will and commitment. I have to say that even by the high standards often seen in European reenactment events, this is a superbly well conducted event!!! Was it televised in Warsaw do you know? Would make a superb documentary for school history education. The Photos alone are of such a professional standard! Thank you so very much for sharing these with the rest of us. -David

To our Polish friends, Bravo!! What a great way of remembering your proud history. More power to your group. To our Pinoy history followers, this is a very good example of what can be done to educate our youth and remember our history as well. The ever dedicated Mr. Perry Javier of BNK, is already spearheading the way to such awareness. If only there could be more people like him. Just imagine hundreds of "katipuneros" commemorating the upcoming anniversary of the "Cry of Pugad Lawin". (23rd August) I think reenacment is the best way of teaching history to our young. Just imagine the island of Corregidor being a full time reenacment location for the Philippine Scouts. Tours of people, students and teachers a like walking into a historical place and finding themselves in a different era. Just like walking back in time. Battle reenacments, as well as daily life of that era being experienced once you get down from the ferry. Some might think it would be like a movie studio, but the thrust should be historical education and accuracy. I doubt if even half of the present soldiers of the AFP know about the real events of Bataan and Corregidor. Many young students don't even know what's the "Cry of Pugad Lawin" is, or even the "Fall of Bataan". Here is an effective way to teach our young our history without being boring. To all you "Reenactors", bravo and keep up the good work!
