SWEET! ;D Thanks for posting this Paolo. Did you take these photos. I seriously can't believe how well kept it looks. Most places are decrepited looking. As I mentioned to you before, I always wanted to visit his grave. Couldn't believe I missed it on my last trip there when it is only a couple blocks away from his shrine.

Splendid Photos! I have already pasted them into my library. The statures are very impressive. I would suggest that masks of fibreglass, resin, or papermache could be made from the busts of Melvar and sold as wall hangings of table lamps & cookie- barrels to tourists. I must visit the museum when i return to the Phil. in October. Given the splendid victories of Gen. Cailles, it seems strange he is not given more prominence, & greater recognition! You mean he has no statue or monument? I have a picture of him taken at his surrender, wearing sunglasses; so if one can find the same oval lens and metal frames (gold ones can with ease be painted over with silver or dark gray lacquer) and you have authentic looking sun-specs! -David

I forgot to ask about the 2 paintings of battle-scenes on the wall of the museum, each side of the 2 busts. Do you know if copies are available, or photos permitted? Also does the museum possess the beautiful dagger seen in Malvar's photo?-David again!

Also does the museum possess the beautiful dagger seen in Malvar's photo?-David again! They do not offer copies of these paintings. And they do not allow you take photos of the paintings, and that goes for everything else inside. And no they do not have Malvars dagger there, only his Rayadillo. There are a total of 7 paintings in the shrine/library. These are my photos of the paintings I took when I visited Malvars shrine. Another very interesting piece of history at the shrine was the newspaper articles from 1910 of Malvars death. One was a very lengthy article on the life and death of Malvar...they had one photo of him that took up the entire whole page of the newspaper, it was of him in his coffin.
