This was shown to me by a friend. He said this is a Pilots suicide gun, WWII vintage, single shot 45 cal. It looks like a "Paltik" gun to me. Can anybody comment on this? Any gun can be a suicide gun for that matter. Just curious. Thanks.

I took that picture with my cellphone's camera yesterday. It is in mint condition which means a higher valuation. I'll ask him to look for the box and other packaging that went with it. Also, he's got a 1906 dated Springfield rifle bayonet, a Japanese Nambu Pistol early model and two weeks ago "gave" me ( actually pay when able ) a US Army issue Remington Rand M1911 A1 pistol for my first collection. I checked the serial number and it is dated 1944. The Liberator is probably one of his priced collection and is just being modest about it. He is a gunsmith but has been doing only airsoft stuffs lately. So, again Veevee, thanks as usual.

Nice. I wouldn't go so far to call it a suicide pistol. Extra rounds were stored in the grip. I'm sure it was more of a last minute back up gun for pilots who had barely anything to carry for protection. How much did he sell you the Remington Rand for, if you dont mind me asking?

Err... give him his P25,000 then run away and hide I think those go for $1000+++ over here. But the US market is different from the Phil. In the US, there are lots of collectors driving up prices.

I was just about to ask what he wanted for the 1906 SA bayonet until I gathered you live out of the U.S. Still, if there was a way to do it, even a bayonet from the Philippines would be something! Any chance of a picture of the bayonet?

Not yet Sir Rudy. I might have to settle for EL Kabayo for basic riding lessons. They have one at Clark as originally mentioned by Vic.

hey 26...i am definitely not a gun collector as such, but have, over the years, picked up an M-1, semi-auto carbine and a top shape, springfield arsenal .45 automatic pistol. the carbine is actually a "re-made" project. it consists of the barrel, trigger housing, etc, and wooden stock from three different weapons. this guy that i used to know bought up a bunch of beat up, surplus M-1 carbines, and salvaged a considerable number of operating weapons from the junked pieces. cost me 60 bucks way back in 1962. about 5 years ago this collector laid 5 one hundred dollars bills on my coffee table for the .45. when i wouldnt sell he tipped me off on some little tidbits about my weapon that made its value higher than some others pistols of like make, etc. my .45 has an army ordnance symbol stamped on the slide. there is also an american eagle emblem on the reverse side of the slide. he told me, since i am not up to snuff on this kind of thing, that these little dealies can make a world of difference to "real" collectors and he wanted me to be aware that my .45 would bring more than a lot of other like weapons. the serial number, according to this man, indicated a 1917 date of manufacture. the springfield arsenal manufacturer also had some significance that i am obviously unfamiliar with. he evidently knew what he was doing when he laid the 500 bucks on the table. he was in town for a huge gun show at the fairgrounds pavilion about a mile from my house here in tulsa. wife was having a garage sale and he and his wife stopped by, killing time till the gates opened. he asked if i had any world war II stuff for sale and one thing led to another till i produced the .45 and carbine for him to take a gander at. it has just made me wonder what that piece would have brought in a bidding or auction. i aint broke, so i aint selling, but its nice to know that i have an "ace" in the hole if hard times descend on my house. cheers. postscript...an ex-cop, here in town, once offered me 600 dollars for the carbine. i am sure it isnt worth that much to most folks, but he had his reasons which i didnt question.

Love your Flare Projector "liberator" they cost now around $1000 good condition, with box add another $1000. Made by GM and cost a buck a piece then. They claimed it took them less time to make this than to load it.
