My enthusiastic congradulations for our PS Living history company! A great 4th of July celebration in California and the Philippine chapters!
Gil should post the write up story for that event!
It looks the biggest and best "Bataan" battle event. With an enemy tank and the scouts defending! Was Donald there to video the battle?
We are finally being recognized by the community and the public for who and what the scouts scarificed for both countries.
Next major planned event will be to try and stage a "Bataan battle" at Fort Stotsenberg in the near future.
Once again I am proud to be a part of the Philippine Scouts Heritage society and our reenactors performing to keep the legacy of the scouts alive. Mabuhay ang Philippine Scouts!

As previous said, Angeles City Council would love to host a "Bataan battle", Question i like to ask is are the tanks amphibious? ha Ha! Seriously though, the advantages the you possess in America have no equal, anywhere in the World. I believe the number of tanks held in private hands in all Europe would not number more than a dozen. large artillery pieces attending reenactment events that i have seen in England, France & Holland have all come from the countries Reg. Army or Reservist training depots. Even Napoleonic events are hard put to transport cannons, carts or cavalry horses further than 200 miles anywhere in Europe. In some countries like Germany, mil. reenactment societies must cross over their national borders to take part, even ancient period events such as the Viking, 100yrs War, or Napoleonic periods. In Britain their are so many restrictions on all firearms. Muzzle loading smooth bores even have to be dismantled while in transit. Railways, planes, and some bus companies refused to transport fire weapons. When My Napoleonic 'Grenzer' comp. take the ferry boat from England to Europe (22 miles of water only) we must first put all the musket locks in a steel box & padlocked in a separate van or car from the guns. My Grenzer unit no longer participates in events in Britain because they are conducted under such tight restrictions, including reenacting mostly at enclosed sports fields. Powder is given in tiny measures (15 shots per day per man) & curtailment or horse & art. movement as this damages the grass! The restriction on guns in the Phils. means that it is hard the import a blankshot firing gun, even if the rifling has been smooth bored. Has anyone State Side brought over a gun to an event in the Philippines yet? How does one stage a battle without the guns going Bang and emitting smoke? The paradox is I can buy & explode fireworks 24/7, and that's OK! I believe that to stage a battle event in the Phils you must first enlist the help and participation of the regional army & police forces. Oh! Oh! How my friends & I envy you fellers in America with all it's freedom. Anyone related to the Chief of police for Pampanga, Bataan or Angeles city? We could of course "knock-up" a plywood or fibraplastic tank carcass on a tractor. Photos were lovely and sharp in detail & I shall use them as reference for a painting. Meanwhile how about painting on the Sherman Tank "Ft. Stots. or Bust" David
