Woah cool. I read those are the 'original' posts from when the base opened in the early 1900s. When the Japanese invaded and took over Clarke, they used those posts to fill the holes in the run way left by bombings. It wassint until the 1965 they were found and dug up.
A little FYI, Stotsenburg was a famous colonel during the Phil-Am War whos death was accredited to Gen. Gregorio del Pilar at the Battle of Quingua. It was also Stotsenburgs district(under Gen MacArthur) where the 1st shots and the start of the Phil-Am War took place. There is a famous picture of him and Gen. Luciano San Miguel(Col at the time) making agreements on the boundaries just prior to the conflict.

Write up from Alvin Alfonso, thank you Alvin!
Fort Stotsenburg, Clarkfield- Organizing the Philippine Scout Heritage Society ( PSHS) chapter in the country finally happened on the 4th of July, 2009.
Philip Garcia came all the way from Singapore to support the endeavor. He is an active member in Lt. Alex Nininger Chapter in Los Angeles,USA.
The Society is a US based organization, who's primary objective is to preserve the history , heritage and legacy of the Philippine Scouts. It is a private, non-sectarian, non partisan, not- for profit association, organized and operated exclusively for educational and preservation purposes within the meaning os Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Present during the gathering were Col. Resty Aguilar, Lt. Guy Hilbero, MSgt. Alvin Alfonso, Atty. Ernie Penas, Engr. Perry Javier,Mr. Bong Casayuran, Mr. Edison David, Mr. Mon Canlas, Mr. Joe Mamam
The itinerary started with all the excitements inside the Clark Museum. After gearing up, the Scouts posed for group pictures. In the field, two WW2 Jeeps were used to entice the atmosphere. Suddenly, locals passed by with horses. The Cavalry did not waste this opportunity to be acquainted with their best friend. Scent of 26th Unit was all over the place.
Rain forced the Scouts for a break. Two piece chicken cuts, rice and soda were served for lunch. Eating inside a restored barn house was delighting after a busy day.
Philip open the discussion with hard copies of Society's By Laws and Articles. He also mentioned how the PSHS educated the public, promoted the history, and uplifted the legacy of WW2 Vets specially the Philippine Scouts.
The group had arrived in the following decisions. First, two chapters will be created. One in Clarkfield and another in Manila. Second, Lt. Hilbero offered the annex building of Municipality of Mabalacat as Chapter Office. An issue was raised of naming the chapter. Should it always be named after a person? Majority decided to seek the advice of Sen. John Patterson, PSHS National President.
The occasion ended up with more photos in different landmarks and monuments. Every minute had not been wasted. It was such a memorable day for all us, and for the Scouts!

Great photo shots Philip, Perry & Co.!
The only thing is that you had three horses there. There could have been one or two pictures particularly a "side view of three mounted men in a row preparing to charge, or something like the Stotsenberg statues.......three mounted 26th cavalrymen wearing helmets with at least one sporting a pistol.
Then we can photoshop one of the troopers carrying the P.S. flag , that would have made a great poster particularly for the 26th cav. PS ;D

Hi Ray,
Thanks for enjoying the pics. We could only borrow the three horses for a while as they were being used for a riding class at that very time they came upon us. Yes that would have been a great photo shoot concept.
I still have to have them make the PS div flag next.

Glad you liked it Philip. The 26th motto "Our Strength is in Loyalty" I think somewhat echoes that of the old Pampanga cavalry regiment during the Spanish period..........."Siempre recononzco aun dueno", loosely translated "Always Faithful to the Command" BTW, Pls. give my regards to Col. Resty Aguilar who wore an impressive type"A" officer's uniform plus U.S. style sunhat, and to the rest of the gang.
