Subject: Heritage Society Seeks Filipino Scout Veterans
The U.S.-based non-profit Philippine Scouts Heritage Society is establishing new chapters in the Philippines, to help remember and honor Scout veterans and their sacrifices during World War II.
An officer of the Heritage Society, Mr. Mike Houlahan, will be in Manila during May to meet with local veterans and their families and set this new effort into motion. Mr. Philip Garcia, an officer of the organization's Los Angeles chapter, is currently in Singapore and will be available to help the new organizations get started.
This is an important step to help focus attention on Filipino Scout veterans who fought so gallantly in World War II, many giving their lives in the effort. The new chapters will honor these men and also help raise awareness of the important role of the Philippines during World War II in the Pacific.
We hope that you will be able to carry this story and contact information before Mr. Houlahan's May visit. For additional information, see the attached news release, or contact Chris Schaefer, Public Relations Officer, Philippine Scouts Heritage Society, at chris_schaefer @ philippine-scouts.org, or 1-832-428-1977.
