1700's Military and Civilian fashion in the Philip

Does anyone have pictures or images of what people in the Philippine Islands during the colonial period wore? I'm thinking spanish military officials wore powdered wigs and tricorned hats as was the style of the time, similar to what the British redcoats and continental Army of the 13 States wore.

I'm very curious what the civilains wore also. That would be a great topic.

Infuriatingly... no. It's a bit of a frustration / mini-obsession of mine as I'm really interested in the Honourable East India Company's brief stay here in 1763. I have no idea how the Regimento del Rey looked but presumably they looked like pretty much all the other colonial regiments in the Spanish army - white single breasted knee length coats with collar and cuffs in facing colour, breeches and waistcoat in facing colour, white gaiters and Bourbon white thingyades in their tricornes.

See if you can figure this out...

BTW if they're REALLY closing down Yahoo Geocities, someone better save all that info there. That's the only link I've found to the 'Regimento del Rey' of 1763.

There's also the murder of Gov.Gen.Bustamante - the unfortunate Governor seems to be in red trimmed with gold brocade while the halberdiers who utterly failed to defend the governor seem to be in blue faced red.

If the uniforms ARE blue faced red, I can probably just make that Scottish Royal Ecoissais / Alan Breck Stewart (from Kidnapped) costume - it's almost identical - and wear my Spanish grenadier 'bearskin' with it, in lieu of a blue bonnet.

But if they're white faced... something... that's okay too. I got the perfect coat for it already.

Overall they probably looked like the guys in 'The Mission'.

This last illustration is of a civil policeman (early guardia civil?), Note the muslim style "silat" pants and chinese slippers. Not a very smart looking uniform, but it's still much much better than being a fireman in those days i suppose.
