Thank you Philip and Victor
thanks for the compliments. I started reenactment way back in 1986 with the late "Jumpin Jim cunningham" back when it was called 36th C&D Our Main is the Camp Mabry Museum, Admiral Nimitz and San Jacinto Battleground. started out 82nd Airborne, 90th ID, 442ND, WW2 Also did Spanish American War and the rest was history. I wanted to do Philippine army to honor my uncle who fought at Bataan so I slowly started collecting before there was any reproductions and the first reproductions was the Peterson in the 80's which I cannot afford back then. So we were stuck wearing originals back in the day which looking back now I shouldn't have done it. I wore out wool shirts and pants which I regret now. I'm pretty much retired from reenacting but my hand can be twisted for living history. I haven't been very active in reenacting here in the texas for the last 5 years but I keep in touch. They are great friends. I still hang on to my Philippine impression. The rest are history unfortunately. It's really nice to see a Philippine history forum to share and learn and keep our history alive. The picture of the Philippine scout with the M3 STUART was taken from the Admiral Nimitz Museum about 6 years ago. If anyone is in Texas or going to visit let me know ed

Hello Ed,
I'm one of the guys here in the east coast doing Philippine Scouts impression and tactical re-enactment. Are you somewhere near the Nimitz museum? I want to go there when they do the Pacific battle re-enactment. And yes, I will take advantage of your invitation. Thanks - Don

Nice Photo and PS impression ediego ! Hope to see more photos and yes keep the spirit alive for our battlin USAFFE heroes of Bataan. Great to see that you are representing the Scouts there in Texas! BTW have you visited the Philippine Scout Museum at Fort Sam Houston at an Army base in San Antonio, TX? Do check it out! Philip There's not a lot of Philippine Scouts display in Fort Sam Houston. Most of the stuffs are albums kept in two cabinets. I copied most of them when I visited Chris Schaefer in Texas last year. I also visited Col. John Olson who lives nearby.

Lets go to Texas. If we can't have the PSHS annual meeting there. We should try at least to attend an event like Old Fort MacArthur Days or Marching Through History in Texas. Will be in Chino this first weekend of October. www.marchingthruhistory.com/

If ever anyone of you visits or moves to Texas Two Major museums will welcome you with open arms and have a very active Living History Educational Programs. ADMIRAL NIMITZ MUSEUM in Fredericksburg, Texas. ( west of Austin, texas) ( National Museum of the Pacific War ) had their "island Assault" weekend held about 5 to 6 times a year They use that M3 Stuart, Halftrack, flamethrower and THEY HAVE AN ACTIVE IJA CADRE majority asians of Japanese ancestry in the Texas area portraying IMPERIAL JAPANESE ARMY/NAVY. Headed by James Yamato. You also have a very Filipino Friendly Museum staff Mr Richard Koone who grew up in the Philippines in the 60's and joined the US ARMY IN THE 70'S AND 80'S. He speaks tagalog and was trained in the Philippines boys scouts. He'll be glad to take you guys in. CAMP MABRY AUSTIN, TEXAS US ARMY supported Texas Military Forces Museum. If you want total immersion in Living History they have curator Jeff Hunt. They also have MUSTER DAY events at the camp where they bring out the vehicles including HUEYS AND LOTS of TANKS. They do demonstrations from Revolutionary war, The ALAMO, US-MEXICAN WAR, Civil War, US -Spanish War, Punitive Expeditions, WWI, WW2, KOREAN to Vietnam War. This is an ideal muster day for someone who has an extensive collections/ impressions. Its a great experience to do something different each year. Both Museums sponsors reenactments depending on their schedule. NIMITZ MUSEUM is heavy on Pacific scenarios. ISLAND HOPPING USMC, US ARMY VS IJA/IJN MABRY is heavy into ETO and Vietnam War scenarios so if you have ARVN, PLA, NVA & VC impressions this is the place. I hope this helps. Also the NIMITZ museum has a great archive on the Pacific War and has some very impresive Philippine collections. Both museums are looking for volunteers. just FYI as in any organization their is politics that can come up from time to time but minimal. My advise is stay clear as always from personal experience ever since I started the hobby in 1986. Enjoy the hobby and living history experience. Keep it alive and accurate!
ADD ON - If you are in Houston- BATTLESHIP TEXAS if you have Navy impression. One of two surviving dreadnaught style Museum ships in existence. Battleship Texas has living history and overnight program if you want to get salty.
