Philippine Scout Heritage Society (PSHS) Memorial Service on the Clark Veteran Cemetery The Philippine Scout Heritage Society (PSHS) held their 28th National Annual Reunion in the Republic of the Philippines for the first time ever. The main venue of the reunion was the former Fort Stotsenburg, then the ex Clark Air Base, now the Clark Development Corporation (CDC). On the 8th April the PSHS, VFW Posts 2485 & 9892, CDC, the Philippine Air Force, many Philippine Scout reenactors and others held a memorial service to the Scouts on the Clark Veterans Cemetery. Veteran Jon Gilbert, Senior Vice Commander and Cemetery Chairman of VFW Post 2485 told us that he set up the memorial site in the middle of the cemetery because all around in this area lie about 600+ Philippine Scouts. His cemetery organization from the VFW Post 2485 and their Officers and members set up the tents, chairs and everything else that is needed for such large memorial service. The VFW Post 9892 Commander and senior Officers from Bauang participated. They recently played a major part in honoring the First Asian and Filipino MOH Recipient Jose Baliton Nisperos. His descendants were also present. WWII Scout Veteran Felipe Fernandez told us emotionally by name of the close friends he lost in the WWII struggle. The Philippine Reenactors from the Central Luzon area, Manila and Hong Kong gave the WWII Scouts, who attended and all the veterans in this cemetery a most proper salute. They were dressed in the WWII Scout uniforms, had 3 WWII Jeeps and some were on horses. Three of the Stateside WWII Scout visitors were from the 26th Cavalry of Fort Stotsenburg. Scout Dan Figuracion participated in the last US Army Cavalry Charge in Morong Town, just south and adjacent of our great ex US Naval Base Subic Bay. Scout Eulalio Arzaga Was maybe the first Scout who encountered the Japanese at Lingayan Gulf. The Philippine Air Force supported this Memorial Service with a band, bugle and a 21 Rifle Salute Squad. Last but not least all the local Members of the Philippine Chapters of the PSHS done a most outstanding job of organizing the Scout Reunion the first time ever outside the US. I could see how big of a job it was bringing everything together. Sorry, but I recall only three of the names of the WWII Scouts who attended, I believe there were a total of six or seven. They all must have been 90 years plus in age. Here are 113 images with only short tiles and medium resolution of the Memorial Service: pisailor.multiply.com/photos/album/107/Phil_Scouts_PSHS_28th_Annual_Reunion_Clark_Cemetery_Memorial_8th_Apr._2012We have also this forum page about the PSHS Reunion: corregidor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=forum&action=display&thread=1143In this thread ‘Miscellaneous Travel’ page 15, my friend John (fots2) already posted some of his pictures: corregidor.proboards.com/index.cg....ead=587&page=15

PSHS 28th Reunion at Clark, CDC, 1st Day Philippine Scout Heritage Society (PSHS) 28th Annual Reunion, 1st Day, arrive, get to know, speakers, Forgotten Soldiers, Banquet. The Philippine Scout Heritage Society (PSHS) held their 28th National Annual Reunion in the Republic of the Philippines for the first time ever. The main venue of the reunion was the former Fort Stotsenburg, then the ex Clark Air Base, now the Clark Development Corporation (CDC). The Stotsenberg Hotel on CDC was chosen as the venue. Fort Stotsenburg was the name of the Fort, home of the Philippine Scouts and after WWII it became the Clark Air Force Base. Then it became the Clark Development Corporation (CDC). The Reunion was held in the Stotsenberg Hotel. I don’t know whether the owners made a mistake or deliberately choose this name. But this sometime causes confusion as to Stotsenberg or Stotsenburg. This was the program for the first day: pisailor.multiply.com/photos/album/108/Philippine_Scout_Heritage_Society_PSHS_28th_Annual_Reunion_1st_Day_arrive_get_to_know_speakers_Forgotten_Soldiers_Banquet.#photo=2This album has 59 images, the names of some of the speakers are in the image titles: pisailor.multiply.com/photos/album/108/Philippine_Scout_Heritage_Society_PSHS_28th_Annual_Reunion_1st_Day_arrive_get_to_know_speakers_Forgotten_Soldiers_Banquet. Here are some sample pictures: The Three 26th Cav. Troopers Dr Rico Jose. Four Reenactors. Donald Plata of the Documentary -Forgotten Soldiers-. The MOH Recipient Nisperos Family with VFW 9892 Commander Frank Hilliard Trooper Dan Figuracion with Family and Friends This time I was able to upload 4 images but two failed and I had to replace them with their URL. Jesus, how come, anyone has an idea???

the whole event was great! except for the mt.samat thing. noynoy's PSG and noynoy himself really dont care about the vets, their just a few lines on his speech.. the VIP should be the vets not him. his details made all the vets ride the bus that they have to go to this long lines... and mr. aquino enjoying the ride going up with his hawi boys around... PSG barong boys would even shout at the vets at the bus service... darn politicians.. they really dont understand the event is all about.

Vic, thanks but I can’t expect you to fix my picture problems, in this effort it happened again, all 9 images. Judging by the reply of dainipponrikugun, I guess, I should be glad that I didn’t manage to go to Mt. Samat and better that I didn’t drag my family along. PSHS 28th Reunion, Reenactment, Ft. Stotsenburg 8th April 2010 Philippine Scout Heritage Society (PSHS) 28th Annual Reunion, reenacting 1942 events when the Scouts stood up towards the Japanese. Philippine Reenactors from all over the Philippines, USA and Hong Kong got together on -The Parade Ground- of the former Fort Stotsenburg. It was for their own benefit but above all it was to honor the returning Philippine Scouts. It is one thing to take part on the field during the reenactment, but without these superb photos and videos we could not convey our efforts or intentions beyond, to the World outside. It is these efforts that reach out and will continue to be useful in teaching our students, and informing all others wishing to learn about these historic events as we try the bring to life the "Dusty" past. Many thanks to you guys.

PSHS 28th Reunion, Displays, Artifacts, Clark, RP, 7th April 2012 For the Philippine Scout Heritage Society (PSHS) 28th Annual Reunion, all these displays and artifacts were presented. It was all at the reunion venue, the Stotsenberg Hotel at the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), the ex Clark Air Base. I know it is confusing but the name of the fort was Stotsenburg and the name of this hotel is Stotsenberg. This album has 54 Images, images have very short titles but the images can be downloaded at about 600KB on average: pisailor.multiply.com/photos/album/110/PSHS_28th_Reunion_Displays_Artifacts_Clark_RP_7th_April_2012I believe, we have to thank Philip Garcia for all these poster displays and all the MOH Recipients framed pictures. The artifact, I assume, came from the PSHS Members and the Philippine Reenactors. Here are some sample pictures: PSHS Fort McKinley Chapter Poster PSHS 28th Reunion Souvenir Program Forgotten Soldiers Poster Forgotten Soldiers, Ortigas Foundation INC presents: PSHS Artifacts PSHS Artifacts PSHS 28th Annual Reunion Registration Desk Philippine Scout insignia Poster s74.photobucket.com/albums/i265/PI-Sailor/Z%20Direct%20Image%20Links/?action=view¤t=120407rPSHS28thReunionDisplays09ScoutInsignia.jpgThis time I was able to upload 6 out of 7 but the last one had to be replaced with its URL.

Hi All:
Just woke up from long Manila flight. I will write later and post other photo's. dainipponrikugun79 has a point on how the vets were treated. An example was that capt Felipe Fernandez needed to use to restroom and the presidents security would not let him. He was very upset about that. If it were not for his daughter in law who put up a very big stink and would go to former President Ramos he would no have made it to the other restroom.
On a good note, President Ramos came by to say hi to the 26th Cavalry vets and a new 57th scout we met from California.
Victor, I even got a picture with him and he mentioned to me, you can still send him his invitation and laughed.
Tired Rudy out..
